Actually, it doesn't. It doesn't require a first chaper at all, that was the previous dragon challenge. I can understand the confusion, many are experiencing the same, given Vocal seems intent on shoving dragons down our throats.
The prompt (verbatim): A grown dragon finds a lost — or abandoned — toddler in the forest. Write a fiction story about what happens next. See, write a fiction story, not a chapter, not a prologue, a story. I read that literally and wrote my story as such.
That said, I think yours works on both levels. It could be a chapter. However, it's got enough to it to stand as a story in it's own right. It held my interest from the beginning, which is saying something given my distaste for the idea of dragons at all. :)
