So, Keeley Schroder wants us to tell her about our siblings. Well, buckle up buttercup, you’re in for a bumpy ride!

I have several siblings, half, full, adopted, known, and secret. I’ve also had people approach me, literally approach me in public places to let me know they had children that they believed were my siblings.

Anyone who reads even a little bit knows my backstory. I was born to a white mother and Black father and subsequently adopted by my bio-dad's oldest brother.

In my adopted home, which I just call home, I was raised with one brother. He was my adoptive parent’s only natural child. He was 15 years older than me.

He was my mother’s golden child, the standard of excellence and compliance that I could never reach. I kinda hated him for that.

But in other ways, he was cool. he played the perfect boy child while doing his shit away from mother’s eyes. He gave me my first beer when I was 14. he bought me banned books and cassette tapes of the “dirty music.” He also drove a cab and gave me rides around town here and there when I needed them.
