As a former gymnast, I approve this message. I'm a very light skinned POC (Black father, white mother) and reemmber being told to tie my hair up tight to avoid exposing the wild curls. I also remember being told at 12, that I was getting "a little too bottom heavy." I was like 75 pounds, I just committed the crime of developing a curvy butt and hips, you know, like a woman is suposed to.
It saddens me to see how far we haven't come. It reminds me of the figure skating world, a similar "white aesthetic". I could go on, but you know what I mean.
Talk without action is nothing. It seems to me to be a no-brainer that music with that word should be off limits. Again, sad to see we've really not come forward at all since my days as a young gymnast.
