As you may or may not know, I'm a mixed race kid. 1971 wasn't a great year for a beautiful white woman to leave her white husband for the Black love of her life. Whatever, here I am. It's been 50 years and the small town I was born in still talks about me. I have a brother and a sister, both much darker than me.
It may sound egotistic, but I don't care. I see myself as living proof that all people were meant to mix, to come togehter and to learn and love. I'm Black, White, Native Canadian, Jewish with a side of Mircronesian. When we come together, we make something beautiful and I consider myself one of those beautiful things.
Loved your story, as always.
