Clair was indeed a wonderful role model, beautiful and intelligent, but when you're 14, a 40 year old woman isn't really one's contemporary. I looked up to her, sure, but somehow, back then it was okay for "old people" to be smart (ol people in quotes because, obviously 40 isn't old, but, again, when you're 14 ...). I'm specifically refrencing the lack of people like me, or like I wished I was, at the time as lead characters, young, female, beautiful and bright.
