Excellent story. I read alot about Peter Martin during my research for the novel I'm writing about my 6th great grandfather, Paris O'Ree. he was a Black Loyalist as well, born in 1764 in Santee, SC. He and his family were owned by Col. Elias Horry. Paris ran at 15 and joined the British. He gained passage to Saint John in 1783. As I'm sure you know, it wasn't all rosy once he got here. Promises of land and provisions weren't kept, or were long in coming. Racism existed up here....
The novel will be fiction, based on fact because the records are so scant, I can't get enough information to write a strictly factual account, but it's still a story I think needs to be told.
