First, let's address calling me "sweetheart," because that's an example of the type of language that you used in your previous comment. Perhaps it was unintended, and I'll assume it was, but saying that I don't understand something, calling me sweetheart, etc., well they come off as condescending. Right or wrong, that's going to colour my reaction to whatever you have to say. I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with me, that's fine and I welcome intelligent discourse. What I don't welcome is being talked (in this case written) down to. It would be just as easy to lead with, "I disagree...here's why..."
I find it cringy because it certainly does reveal a deeper truth about how society views women and aging, and it's a truth that's been around a long time. Music aside (I get why she's playing THAT tune, so to speak, give the public what it wants and all that). The problem, for me is simply she could have used her aging as an opportunity to see that ageing can be beautiful and that she's comfiortableas she is now. Instead, she chose to use filters that heavily changed her appearance and it just leaves me unimpressed. The use of filters on IG to me isn't art and it certainly isn't talent (referring to your comment "an artist's takent are their choices). Her use of filters is her choice too, she chose to use them, she opted to look rediculous in so doing. That's my opinion. You have a different take on it.
