From a pet parent of 3 (2 cats, somewhat evil, and of course, Rudy, who's street name is Rudilicious Jones), I say thank you. And you were and are essential. To me, when a person takes on a pet, it's like having a child, health care is a given. Full stop, no questions, that's just how it is. Can't or won't pay for it, don't get the pet.

Here, for a while during Covid, Vet offices actually shut down. And we're still doing the "call us when you're here, we'll come get Animal X" Is it inconvenient? Yes. Is it necessary to protect all involved? Yes. My vet told me dogs can get and carry Covid. They might not get sick, but my pup is in my face all the time. Better safe than sorry.

People are assholes. I remember seeing all this crap about "we're all in this together," but that's not what I've seen in practice. I've seen rudeness, pushing, shoving, abuse to people just trying to do their jobs, etc. Good thing I wasn't all that social to begin with.
