Working with Ron changed me for the better

They say you never know what goes on behind closed doors. And in a nondescript 2-story home on a nondescript street in a small eastern town, that sure was the case.

It had soft yellow siding, a large wrap-around deck, and like all the other houses on the street, a perfectly manicured lawn. Several cars were parked in the driveway. That wasn’t strange. Most of the residences had multiple cars in their driveways.

What was different was that these cars moved, every 8 hours or so. Then they were replaced by different cars. They were the vehicles belonging to the house staff.

This was no ordinary house. This was a group home. And these were no ordinary residents. These were extraordinary people.

And for me, this was no ordinary job. It was THE job. It was the job that changed my outlook on people. It was the job that changed my life. And it was the job that nurtured my soul and filled my heart with joy.

So when Nancy Blackman, MASF asked in a prompt
