He emailed because he lost his phone at the bar a couple weeks ago. That was phone #3 or 4 I've bought him in the past year. All cheap ones, but still. This time, I wouldn't buy him another. I'm trying to stay within a budget and not dip into savings or credit. I'm not getting any younger and as we've discussed before, I wasn't exactly raised with financially literate parents. I'm having to impose discipline on myself.

I did end up bringing him some food. Just some of the stuff we had around the house. I didn't give him money or buy him cigarettes.
