Honestly, I don't like what she's done with her face. I do understand it is HER face. And I'm not some young kid, I'm almost 52, so I'm middle-aged myself.

However, I do think on some level, I sort of get it, or get her, if that makes sense. Just my opinion, but I think much of this is rooted in her insecurity. That insecurity stems from patriarchal and sexist views of what a woman should be and of course, attractiveness and desirability.

Madonna benefitted from that and played it to her advantage, as well she should have. And somewhere along the line, her identity and sense of worth got all tied up in that and now she's scared shitless because if she's not hot and sexy, what is she? I'm sure many of us go the same thing on a lesser scale on not in public. I refuse to use filters and sure as hell can't afford a nip or a tuck, but if you think I worry about "loosing the cute," you'd be wrong. I'd love to be above it. I'm not. I kinda wish she was because she was so unabashedly, unapologetically herself before, I wish she'd just be like, "yeah, I'm 64 and fuck you." I wish she could be a role model for aging gracefully the way she was for female sexuality back in the day. But that's not fair. I know that. It's not her job to make me feel better. I just get the feeling that inside, she's not feeling so great. Sorry for the rambling, hope it made some sense.
