Honestly, I find your comments a little off base. Maybe it's because, as you say, you're coming at it from the eyes of the "golden child on both sides." However, nowhere did I suggest I blamed my brother. In fact, I made it quite clear that I place the blame squarely at the feet of my mother.

I'm not, nor have I been looking for an error or flaw, you're projecting that on me for some reason. In fact, the discovering this family secret made me feel more compassion toward him.

I'm not perpetuating mistakes of previous generations. That's the entire point of the story, that I don't go in for keeping things secret and that the previous generations' penchant for doing so caused nothing but trouble and was damaging to all involved.
