I agree completely. I was rasied Baptist. My mother was very religious. Questions were not encouraged. I don't think I ever believed any of it, to be honest. That being said, when I became a parent, I started doing the "good mom" thing and taking my kids to Sunday school and church. Until my 5 year old essentially dropped out because he wasn't getting any satisfactory answers to his questions. My kids never went back.
Instead, I encouraged them to think critically, evaluate everything and to ask questions. I exposed them to various phiolsophies and religions as and when they requested it. And shock, horror, all 3 grew up to be moral, decent young men without a religious upbringing.
