I don't even know what to say. It seems to me the law was unduly harsh on Chrystul. I've never been in her shoes or yours, I've never been trafficked, sold or abused in that way. But my son was abused and, no joke, the day I found out I picked up a gun (well, a hunting rifle, this is Canada) and headed to my car. The visceral need to protect him, do something, I don't know was real, so I can only imagine what it would be like for the victim themselves. My ex-husband stopped me, so I guess I can think him for keeping me out of prison.
