I enjoyed this. I'm a Gen Xer, but I have 3 Millennial sons (all adults now) so I get what you're saying. The first thing that stood out to me is that your 10 year old's teacher actually assigned him homework involving looking stuff up in a dictionary, I applaud her for that!

Kids are missing out on so much now, the joy of just playing outside, picking wild berries in the woods, building forts, all that. Calling on friends by knocking on their door and then going out. The smell of a new book. I made sure my kids had all those things and it wasn't that easy then, but it was all I knew and I'm glad they knew it too.
