I get what you're saying and I appreciate your point of view. Of course not all middle-aged men are creeps or losers. But yeah, the world does often feel like a dangerous place for a woman alone. That being said, it's more the manner in which the approach is made, there's a nuance, a vibe, that just screams "creepy". It's in the smirk, the up and down glance, the immediate encroachment into my personal space. I've had men approach me in ways that weren't creepy, a polite smile and a hello, a comment on something of particular note happening in the immediate surroundings, normal things like that. I have no issue with that and have even made some friends that way. I'm not overly precious about it; I don't freak out every time a man looks sideways at me, and many other women out there don't either. I wish you didn't feel like you have to give up because that's not fair either.
