I hated mine too. The teenage years are a time when we so desperately want to fit in, and I couldn't. My mother used to try to boost me up by telling me I wasn't like all the "white girls with 3 names" (think 90's tv). I still have a size 0 waist and a size 6 ass...try buying pants with that! I was always tiny, but with a big butt and what my coaches called "powerful" thighs. I love it now. I love all of it now, the juicy ass, the small waist, the thick powerful legs, the curly hair....these are the gifts my ancestors gave me and at 50, I wear them with a defiant pride. Oh, and by the way. my quick mind, for anyone who wants to know....yeah, that also came from my daddy's side. So happy to connect with you too. It's only now, through Medium that I've met other biracial women that understand.
