I have a JD, I can use Dr. I don't, it feels pretentious somehow, hell maybe I should, just for shits and giggles, LOL

Regarding paralegals and legal assistants too, I couldn enver have survived without mine. I'm not exaggerating when I say they are the backbone of any decent law firm and they keep things running. I know how to find out what the law is, I know how to do the research, I know how to argue what the law should be in a given case, and I know how to put it all together in a compelling package. That's the sum total of my expertise.

What I can't do is keep hundreds of client files orgainized, along with court dates, appearances, meetings, appointments, due dates for submissions, briefs, etc. I can't proofread my own work. I know the Rules of Court, but my paralegal and assistant knew the Rules of Court. There's a huge difference! I knew the Rules, but really didn't have some of the more technical rules top of mind, cover submissions (buff for one court, blue for another, etc), line spacing and margins, things like that that can sink you before you ever have a chance to argue your case. Without them, I'd likely have been curled up in the corner of my office, surrounded by all those files, crying.
