I hesitate to respond but, here I am anyway. You know my story, you know I'm Black/white mixed but look pretty damn white, which makes me loathe to wade into these things, but again, here I am.
I've been treated largely as white, until found out, then it switches.. When I speak of my experiences to white women, they get uncomfortable. They're afraid, I think, afraid of the implications, afraid because they don't know what's expected of them. You've cleared that up perfectly, what's expected is shut up and listen.
