I love this, and now, by extension, you. I am a Gen X, and I raised 3 millennials, born in 1990, 92 and 94. My oldest was born about 6 weeks before I turned 19. I had 3 kids before I was 24.

And you know what? They're fine. I did my thing, I went back to school, got a couple of degrees. I was a child of slaves, and we were okay.

The generational thing is basically something to write about. I think my kids, actually, I know my kids loved having a young mother that could go to the court and play some b-ball. I know they loved the fact that I "got" them.

That said, they hated I was "hot mommy". They hated I could outrun them. They hated their teachers asking them about their mother and not their homework.

But they're okay. They have jobs and homes and shit. I wish the world was different for them. I wish it were easier to buy a home. But, time are what they are. All I know is I made 3 people who are smarter and better than me and they now love their young mommy. Having Gen X parents is probably the best. I was raised by depression era parents. Children seen and not heard, no discussion of sex or politics, in the late 80s...
