I very much doubt I'm missing the point of my own story and my own life experience.

That said, I kinda like you. You're at least intelligent and brave enough to open a dialogue. I can give you that.

I don't know your background or struggle. I suspect you're a white man. You could be a woman, but I don't get woman from you. Whatevs, either way.

I take exception to the "if you want good race relations...." We don't need to continue playing by your rules, that's the problem, we've done that. How long do we wait?

I'm a scholar, in Psychology, Politics, and Law. I have degrees in all 3 disciplines and practiced law for years. Equality of opportunity and equality of outcome are 2 different things. I can let you into Harvard, doesn't mean you'll be able to go.

There's generational trauma. There's a legacy that isn't pretty.

I don't expect you to get it, but I do appreciate your openness and invite you to continue the discussion. My email is on my profile.

To challenge me openly shows bravery and without serious discourse, nothing changes. So.... I leave you with a few questions;

1. You say wait for it to die out. How long do we wait?

2. I straddle 2 worlds. You know this. I've experienced both sides of the coin. explain that to me? Should I have just shut up about my heritage?;

3. What is the obsessive discussing race at every turn? What are the absurd lengths? Did you see people you could relate to on TV growing up? People you could look up to and aspire to be like? I didn't. Let's talk.

4. Finally, what are you afraid of? What, really, no joke, I am seriously asking, what are white people afraid of in this political climate, in this era of people of colour not standing down anymore. What are you scared of?

You might just be a brilliant changemaker....talk to me...I'm ready to listen...
