I was the child of older parents. They were 43 when the adopted me. But that was 1971. I was adopted by depression era parents in the most transformative generation, Gen X, that has existed. It wasn't great.

Their old-fashioned ways weren't ready for me or the world I grew up in. Everything was a cosntant battle.

However, I am grateful for the values the instilled in me and things I learned from them.

Also, times have changed. A person in their 40s or even 50s now isn't even close to the same as what they were 50 years ago. When my parents were 50, my mother had no teeth and white hair. She looked 70 and acted it too.

Congratulations on the baby! You're going to be awesome. Love Loren, enjoy her. It's all going to be fine.
