If I hear the God's will argument one more time, I will scream! I'm in Canada, we have much less gun violence than the US. That said, last week, my friend was shot in the shoulder and her 3 children were killed (aged 6, 7, and 12) by her ex-husband and their father - a man with a history of DV and violent offences including assaulting a police officer. Oh, he also shot and killed his girlfriend. God's will? I don't think so. A legal system and a mental health system that failed, yes.

Honestly, as an outsider looking at the US, it seems like the Republicans sort of toe the NRA line for money, contributions, lobbying power, etc. Nobody needs an assault rifle. I mean...I don't even know, the whole thing pisses me off.
