I'll say this. I understand your point, but I respectfully disagree on some fundamental points. You strike me as intelligent and grown, so I think you can handle it.

Jada is sure as hell going through some shit. Hair is a big thing for women. And as a biracial woman raised by Black parents, I can tell you it's a HUGE thing for a Black woman. I have a friend with alopecia and it sucks. It makes a woman question her femininity and beauty as a woman.

However, Jada is no little wallflower. She's been open about all this. She's handled it with dignity and grace like the queen she is.

I think Will's issue was deeper. He saw his father abuse his mother. He had to endure his wife's "red table talk" about her "extra curricular activities". I think that's what happened. It all came to a head and when she rolled her eyes as he laughed, he knew he had to show his "manhood."

Thing is, Jada is a strong woman, she didn't need his protection. Girl can handle herself. He showed himself out.

It wasn't an act of chivalry. It was assault. Was Chirs Rock out of line? Maybe, but he's edgy, we all know it. Should he have gone there? Maybe not, but that's not a call to violence.

He didn't stand up for his wife's honour. He perpetuated the same old stereotype I grew up with of the angry Black man. And that saddens me. There are wonderful Black men everywhere that don't resort to violence. I know, they're my brothers, my nephews and cousins.

I get why he did it, but he was wrong. You can't go around bitch slapping people every time you don't like what they say. I grew up with that, literally. He's not an idiot, he could have used his words. He embarrassed himself, he embarrassed the Academy, he embarrassed his family.

I don't hate Will. I grew up with him. I love his work, but he was flat out wrong here. | understand it, but I don't condone it.
