I'm a Gen Xer. My boys are Millennials, I think. From where I stand, MY generation brought the youngsters all they hold dear now. We protested and ended Apartheid, we brought the Berlin Wall, we were the first generation to experience the internet. You're welcome, kids.

And we created them. Their world is not our world. They have a lot to learn from us, especially now, during these economic times. But we also have a lot to learn from them in terms of openness, acceptance and understanding.

As a kid, I loved talking to "old people." I loved helping little old ladies and then sitting for hours, listening to their stores. That's what we need, more listening, more dialogue, we can learn from each other.
