I'm a pretty modern gal despite being almost 52. I have no problem with women making the first move.
However, I was raised by very strict Depression-era parents who had very specific (albeit outdated even by 1980s standards) ideas of dating. As a result I've been conditioned not to make the first move.
I've never called a man first. I've never asked a man out. I've never even asked one to dance, ever. I am not at all comfortable with it. But I can flirt like a pro and make the man think it was his idea all along. Mind you, that's just me. What others do is fine for them.
