I'm almost 51. I worked all my life. I had a great career as a lawyer. Here's what I see. We were the generation that were sold that we could have it all. Working women, DINKS (remember that acronym, double income no kids), technology. The worls changed darmatically during our coming of age.
But the economy sucked so boomers kept thier jobs, blocking our upward mobility. Then the next generation came along, all new and shiny. And grooming X to take over for a Boomer isn't cost effective, if you can get a millenial, way more years on the latter.
I walked away and did my own thing. Best thing I ever did.
