I'm biracial and was raised by 2 black parents. MY father, in 1951 was asked to stand aside while "Princess Elizabeth" inspected the troops because she might be "uncomfortable shaking a black hand". He refused to stand down, reasoning he signed up to die like the white boys, he'll meet her like an equal and he did. She shook his hand, but he said she was very uncomfortable....well good.
That being said, the fact that it was "Chuckie" that asked about Archie's complexion, is both surprising and not (my ex's family asked the same questions about our kids). My mother always warned me about racists wearing pleasant masks. I shouldn't have been surprised. He won't admit it and as a Canadian, I think it's high time we divest ourselves of this outdated, colonialist, racist regime. Just my 2 cents.
