I'm Canadian. I bitch about our system from time to time. The waiting, blah, blah. But this reminds me of how lucky we are here. It's really so easy here, just present at a clinic, see a doctor, that's it. No cash need change hands. Medicare here isn't perfect, but it is pretty damn good. A person can either go to the ER and wait (and often it does take several hours because worst is first, right), or go to a walk in clinic, or they can even do a telehelath appointment and speak to a doctor from the privacy of their own home and get a diagnosis and prescription.

We're a country though bigger in size, are much smaller in wealth and population. If we can do this for our citizens, there's no reason the US can't. It's short-sighted to continue this way. The money spent on a national healthcare system would be made back in healthy children, healthy workers, people that can get on with life because they're not letting minor things fester for fear of a bill. Healthcare is a human right as far as I'm concerened. Your country is losing out on the best of it's people because of it's refusal to provide care. So, I call President Biden out here and now and challenge him, do it. Pull the trigger and do it. If we can do it here in Canada, you can there with 10 times the wealth and 10 times the popultion to support it.
