I'm Canadian. We have gun control. But that isn't my point. My point is more a legal/constitutional one.
From where I sit up here, it looks like the big argument with the 2nd Amendment, that's the one, isn't it?; is that it's guaranteed in the Constitution.
There's a doctrine in Constitutional law called the living tree doctrine, which basically means that a foundational document, like a constitution, has to live and breathe like a tree, to grow with the times and be interpreted not as written but within the context of the present day. Is that not a thing in the US? If it isn't, it should be. There's no reason for everyone to be able to have a fucking gun.
