I'm late to the party here. Funny, he's been unacceptable a couple times in comments to me lately too. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt because I'm also autistic. And maybe he was having a bad day, or two. I never did report his comment or block him, but the 2nd time, he was just way beyond rude so I let him have it in that way only I can - never insulting but just pointed enough to allow the commenter to hang themselves with what they've said. I never realized he'd been this way with others too.

You absolutely did nothing wrong We all have to be responsible for what we say and there are ways to disagree with people without being vile.
