I'm not big, never have been. In fact, I've always been thin. The bias is not only against larger people. The BMI was the bane of my youthful existence. Every single time I went to the doctor, it was all about "what was going to be done" about me and my lack of girth. I was perfectly healthy, atre well, was athletic, just thin. My mother was thin, my father was thin....but because I fell outside the bell curve, I and my parents were made to feel there was something wrong with me. This led to lifelong body image issues which I've only recently dealt with. The BMI sucks.
