I'm not Chinese or Asian, but I am mixed race (Black and White) and was raised in a Black home and my Black mother was legit tiger mom! I mean to the point if I came home with a 99%, she'd demand to know where the lost mark was.

She erased everything I did for homework over and over if it wasn't to her standard. To the point the paper succumbed. I recited spelling words and times tables over and over.

Mama Wang, first off, was/is a stunningly beautiful woman. I love how you capture the complexity of tiger mom and care and concern. My mom had hot lunch and snacks waiting for me when I came home.
