I'm what I would consider a strong woman. And honestly, I'm saddened by some of the comments. That being said, much of your article rings true.

When I was practicing law, I found men were threatened by me. They really didn't understand what they had to offer me or how they were "the man". Well, they were the man because they had the penis, simple as that. That's an over simplification, but in my mind, "the man" isn't a statement reflecting dominance or ability to provide, it means, you're the dude, I'm the girl.

As for what a man has to offer. Well, he has himself. Companionship, honesty, integrity, loyalty. It's not money we're after. We can get that for ourselves. We're after a partner to share life with. Someone who shares a vision of life and goals, etc. I married a blue collar guy. Granted that didn't work out. But after that, I married a self-employed artist.

All that said, I don't think we do a very good job sometimes at communicating with each other. Both sexes need to be able to be open and honest with each other about what we want and need.
