In my experience, when both genders get older and grow up, intelligence and shared values matter a lot more than other things. The Capitan of the football team, who never read a book cover to cover, isn't as cute as he was. If guys over 30 are experiencing issues meeting someone, I'd suggest, with respect, cultivating interests, appreciating conversation, etc. Not every guy, or girl is going to land a 10, and that's fine, as long as that person is a 10 in their eyes. Case in point, I adore the late Christopher Hitchens and think he was sexy as hell. Physically, maybe a 6.5 but that mind elevated him. It's a maturity thing, in my opinion, and I'm sad the author is perpetuating the myth. But then again, I don't think he understands research methodology . As one of my professors in my undergrad used to say (the late and totally awesome Harold Taukalus, PhD), get a smart girl because eventually, you're going to have to roll over and talk to her, LOL
