It seems we're talking/writing at cross purposes here. The only issue that the author of the story we're commenting on was referring to is dress codes that are biased against female students.

Girls have always been given a lighter path? Ummm, not from where I sit. In fact, given the persistent double standards that have existed and continue to exist in respect of what's deemed appropriate for girls as opposed to what's apporpriate for their male counterparts, I'd say it's been and is the exact opposite.

You can mention whatever you want at your meetings. But please do not take my politeness as agreement. What I'm trying to get across to you is that while you seem to be doing a lot of good work, especially with young men, your experiences with nnot so nice young ladies has clouded your view and in my view, has led you to continue to perpetuate the double standards that I referred to above.
