It truly boggles the mind that this is still a thing. It both saddens and angers me.

As a white presenting mixed race child in the 70s, THIS was the story of my life whenever I went out with my Black father. Constant questions, demands as to who I belonged to and whether or not he had permission to have me with him. There were even times self appointed well meaning folks tried to physically remove me from my own father's custody , to take me to "safely." Cops were called more than once. Never by my father.

That was in the early to mid 70s.

It seems we haven't come very far in 5 decades.
