I've been on the platform since July 2021 and am sitting somewhere around 975 followers and have learned very quickly that followers does not equal money. I've been lucky and consistently make between 300-600 each month, give or take. I don't know how or why, to be honest, but here are my observations and what I think has worked for me:

1. Some of it is just dumb luck, yeah, there I said it;

2. Followers don't get you paid, eyeballs on your stuff gets you paid. From what you're describing, those 13000 followers are passive and not really engaging;

3. To receive engagement, you must engage. I'm not sure whether you do or don't engage with other writers' work, and I'm certainly not accusing, just making a point. Thoughtful engagement is what has gotten me where I am. I'm convinced of it. Take time every day to read the work of other writers that interest you. Leave meaningful comments that show you've read and understood. That often starts a dialogue and suddenly, these writers are checking you out and engaging with your work;

4. I also don't write in any specific niche. I write poetry, some fiction and A LOT about my life, so there's definately room on this platform for those of us that can't be tied down. Granted I do think I have a bit of a unique style. My point here is there's a readership for what you write. Write authentically, from the heart.

Well, that's my 2 cents worth from a relative newbie, but a newbie that's at least getting wine and treat money from this platform. I'll go check out some of your stuff. Good luck.
