I've run into several of these types. More often than not, they're trying to elevate themselves due to a severe lack of self esteem. When I was younger, I felt almost compelled to call them out on thier bullshit. Now I just smile and nod. The most current is the 60 year old guy that was top student, went to university and graduated top of his class, joined the, army for 4 years, ran 3 successful businesses for 30 years, went back to school to become a chef, ran 3 successful restaurants, that nobody heard of...in short he crammed about 150 years of life into his 60 years...you get the idea.
