Laid Up
I’m not sure when exactly I became clumsy. I was a gymnast for crying out loud! I pride myself on my quick, athletic, and graceful movements.
Quick, that’s where it all fell apart, trying to be too quick. I was in a hurry to go nowhere special, to do nothing in particular. Apparently, all this unimportant meandering was urgent, at least in my mind. I rushed from the shower to my bedroom to get dressed and BAM! I whacked my baby toe right on the bedframe, hard!
It hurt like a bitch! For a few minutes. Then I went about my day. It was a bit stiff, but I didn’t notice anything overly worrisome.
Until last night. That’s when the swelling, bruising, and pain made their entrance, and have since refused to leave.
I’m hobbling around here like a fool. I hate this. I have 2 speeds, fast and stop. I don’t like “stop.”
Poor Rudy, I guess he’ll have to go for walks with his daddy for the next few days.
On a positive note, I now have plenty of time to read and write. And, if I’m laid up at home, it keeps me from wasting gas and money running the roads. See, lemons into lemonade. :)
