Week 21–27 November Writing Prompt
Listen First
It’s another snowy morning in Northern Ontario. As I sip my coffee and look out my patio door, I have to admit, it’s very pretty. And, of course, I’m working, well, sort of. I’m catching up on my reading and looking for ideas and inspiration.
And I found it. Nancy Blackman, MASF never disappoints. I can always count on her for a prompt that gets my mind swirling with words. Today’s prompt asks the following:
Write down ideas on how you can be more accepting of those who are different from you. How can doing this improve your quality of life?
This got me thinking for a number of reasons. First, usually, I’m the different one in any group of people, so I have an interest in tackling this from that perspective. As the odd one out, how can others be more accepting of me? What do I wish they’d do?
Secondly, as a person living in today’s climate, I can’t help but notice what we as a society are lacking.
The good news is that what I and anyone else can do to be more accepting of those who are different from us is super easy.
