LOL, I did this exact thing! I made a rule for myself when I first started practicing law, NO DIVORCES! I was forced to do a couple as "favours" for senior partners when I was a junior. Yuck.
When I was finally able to attract my own clients and pick and choose, I quoted an insanely high hourly rate for a case and just my luck, didn't he take it. It was the worst! Don't get me wrong, we won, but I should have charged double what I did for what a pain in the ass the guy was.
As a fellow lawyer turned writer who has had lots of money and pretty much no money, I'm way happier now, probably because I'm not really a lawyer turned writer, I was always a writer that became a lawyer and then went back to being myself. :)
