My Ex Sold His Kids Out For A Piece Of Land
What price would you put on your kids? Most of us would say there is no price. Not my ex and the father of my 3 kids. His price, from my understanding, is roughly $200,000.
And before you go out on a limb and accuse me of being a bitter former flame greedy for money, I’m not. I don’t want or need anything from this man. I didn’t even bother to seek child support from him.
But yeah, he totally sold out his kids for a piece of land.
His family owned a large plot, part of it bayfront. It’s nice land. It was initially owned by his grandparents, then his uncle. And according to the “plan,” it was supposed to go to him after that.
But things change. Families can be so complicated. He was, allegedly written out of the will some 20 years ago because he dared stand up for his children.
I remember being so proud of him. I remember for the first time in ages, we were on the same side, a united front. One of my boys, and then a second, disclosed they had been routinely sexually abused by their great uncle, the heir to the land. His mother and the rest of the family circled the wagons to protect him.
