My Favourite Medium Writers, Vol. 1
Recently, I’ve seen quite a few stories about people’s favourite writers on the platform and it got me thinking. One of my favourite things about Medium is the sense of community that exists among writers. Coming from the icy halls of the corporate world, where in many respects, it’s a dog eat dog, get all you can for yourself and fuck the other guy or gal, it’s a much welcome breath of fresh air. Encouragement, sharing knowledge and offering a helping hand are never mistakes and they never ever cost you more than you gain.
I’ve been here for about 3 months and the response has been phenomenal! I’ve found a home for my words, made some money (not tons, but it keeps me in gas and treats), read some awesome work and met some great people. I’d like to introduce you to a few of them.
Jimmy Misner Jr.: Jimmy is one of the first writers I connected with when I joined Medium. I posted a couple of things, shared them in a few Facebook groups and the next thing I knew, he was writing a little blurb about this “great new writer” he stumbled on — me. His welcoming nature and generosity of spirit really touched me.
