Nice Weather We’re Having
I’ve been somewhat delinquent in my writing. Translation — I’ve been slacking off. It’s not my fault, really, it’s not. We’re enjoying a small burst of summer in April here in Northern Ontario. I’ve even had to break out the flip-flops and shorts. Today, it’s going to be sunny and 23 degrees (for my American friends, that’s about 73).
That’s what we call Pre-Summer #1 up here. And I have to take full advantage because Tuesday is going to bring in yet another brief, but brutal Canadian season, Winter, The Sequel #9. After that we may get some spring, followed by a few more short bursts of Pre-Summer before “Actual Summer” hits.
Since April began, we’ve run the veritable gamut as far as weather goes. April Fool’s Day gave us the biggest joke ever, a huge blizzard with over a foot of snow. It shut the city down. They took the busses off the road. I had to dig my van out.
That was followed immediately by Spring sunshine which lasted a day or two. That was a late Spring teaser.
Then, more frigid temperatures and winds. Followed by rain and thunder. And now the first installment of Pre-Summer.
