No, there's nothing wrong with you. I call my husband my husband for the sake of having something to call him, but we've never "gotten the paperwork" on each other. I feel a little too old to call him my boyfriend and in Canada, we don't use "partner" like they do in Europe.
I don't know if we ever will. Honestly, it just doesn't matter to me. The only benefit I can see to getting married would be in terms of decision making and property distribution if and when one of us dies. And I've already taken care of all that (one of the benefits of having been a lawyer).
Like you, if we did get married, it would be a private thing, a trip to the courthouse and done. Until then, the next person who asks me when we're going to get married is going to get the following as a response, "When are you going to start minding your business." LOL
