Oddly enough, I went exactly the opposite way. Although my father loved to cook, I was raised mostly on processed foods (it was the 70s and 80s, so that was common). I never saw fish in a form other than can or stick. We had a big can of dehydrated potato flakes. Looking back, it seems strange. Anyway, when I grew up, I became almost fanatical about feeding my kids healthy food. Despite sometimes working 3 jobs, I cooked most nights. Well, really, I threw stuff in a slow cooker in the morning, turned it on and when I came home...tada...food! I did allow treats and sometimes got take out, but very rarely. My boys all eat very healthy now and they call can cook.
