Oddly enough, this doesn't surprise me at all. Jobs like CO, cop, the army, etc. often attract a certain type of individual. Don't get me wrong, there are good people, who really do what to serve and do a good job in these professions too, but you know what I mean. These types of careers often attract people who have felt powerless and ineffectual their whole lives. Having a position of authority over others gives them that feeling they've been missing....power. With these types of people, small perceived slights, petty disagreements, etc. even as between colleagues, feel like a big deal to already fragile egos.
