Or maybe she actually gets it. I understand her hurt and confusion from you not confiding in her at the time. But as a survivor of spousal abuse myself, it's not something we advertise when we're going through it. There's processing time. there's living each day in survival mode and there's the shame and embarrassment (however unwarranted) of not wanting to burden others or air our dirty laundry, as my mother would say. I sure hope there is that magic in the world for your sake.
