Pam, honey, there ain't a damn thing wrong with you! Sitting as the person I am today, I could write the same thing, but I'd add a line item for "getting ass kicked by 100 pound cutie" with a corresponding price. You see wrong done, you want to right it. That's natural for a feeling, thinking person.

I was abused by my ex. People that know me now can't grasp how I allowed that.

You were blessed to be raised like all children deserve to be raised, free from abuse. It gave you the space and freedom to develop a healthy sense of self and of boundaries and your worth. Those are all great things. Many of us are left to learn the hard way.

But today, I'm the bitch on the bus, or in the mall that will insert herself when I see a man abusing a woman or a child. Or an animal. Wanna fight me? Good luck, I'm way more than anyone bargains for.
